A copper bath is a striking feature in any bathroom – and you can’t go far wrong with your choice of complimentary colours. The trend featured in this month’s edition of Beautiful Bathrooms by Period Homes Magazine, is one trend we agree with. The trend for all things copper complimented by verdigris. In their article they feature, not only copper basins, taps and baths but gorgeous copper green accessories which allude to the verdigris which coats copper when exposed to the elements.Mylands sells an amazing shade of green paint called ‘Copper Green’, which is inspired by the green patina of weathered copper roofs. When does a style become a trend? When it is so decadent it’s too good to resist! In the last few years we have seen the trend of stunning feature–baths move from the bathroom, via the bedroom to the great outdoors.
As a bathroom specialist we enjoy seeing our hand-finished bath tubs in some spectacular settings. Here’s just a few of them.Who wouldn’t want to bathe in front of the fire?
Back in the days before we had the luxury of indoor bathrooms and central heating, it was not unusual to see a tin bath placed in front of the fire. In those days it was a practical necessity and a real treat for the family to feel clean, once a week.

And, to be fair, that’s all most of us need – a quick shower before work; a quick shower after the gym or a convenient place to clean our teeth before bed. But how many of us occasionally crave a long, luxurious bath?
With a freestanding bath you can have both. A shower for the morning rush and a gorgeous roll top bath for your relaxing weekend soak.
By putting your bath in your bedroom you can allow your en-suite to be the practical, efficient space it needs to be while indulging yourself in a far more glamorous setting. No longer will you need to carry your wash bag to the family bathroom, and stare at the kids’ toys while you soak. By putting a free standing bath in your bedroom you can bathe in front of the fire or looking

Though a single, simple colour might be an excellent way to show off your cast iron bath, there is so much more you can do with your bathroom décor. However, the truth is that luxury bathrooms are often the last place on earth people think to use pattern.

By their very nature bathrooms are clutter magnets. From face cloths and makeup, to scented candles and toilet rolls, the potential for aesthetic Armageddon is colossal. That’s why we’re a little obsessed with good storage. After all, who wants their gorgeous cast iron bath buried under a mountain of towels?
